Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE)– This is an allergic inflammatory disease of the esophagus (the tube connecting the mouth to the stomach). It occurs when a type of white blood cell, the eosinophil, accumulates in the esophagus. The elevated number of these white blood cells causes injury and inflammation to the esophagus.

Food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES)– This is sometimes referred to as a delayed food allergy. It is a severe condition causing vomiting and diarrhea.
