Description
INDICATION AND DOSAGE
Alka-Seltzer Original are effervescent tablets that contain acetylsalicylic acid which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) used for the treatment of pain and reduction of fever and also has anti-inflammatory properties.
It is indicated:
For rapid relief of pain including migraine, headache, period pains, neuralgia, toothache, sore throat.
Symptomatic relief of rheumatic pain, sciatica, lumbago, fibrositis, muscular aches and pains.
Symptomatic relief of influenza, feverishness, feverish colds.
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE
Alka-Seltzer Original tablets must always be dissolved in water before use.
Adults and children over 16:
Two tablets dissolved in half a glass (100ml) of water may be taken every 4 hours as required. You should not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours.
Not recommended in children under 16.
Do not take Alka-Seltzer Original for more than 3 days in a row. If you do not get better, talk to your doctor.
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
A physician consultation is highly recommended in such cases.
Generally acetylsalicylic acid at doses of 100 mg/day and higher is contraindicated during the third trimester of pregnancy.
Breastfeeding is contraindicated at high doses because of the theoretical risk of affecting clotting mechanisms.
SIDE EFFECTS
Difficulty in breathing or swallowing, swelling of the face, lips, throat or tongue, skin rashes or itching, Increased bleeding/blood thinning (if you cut or injure yourself).
