An oximeter is a device that measures your oxygen saturation level or the oxygen levels in your blood. It can rapidly detect even small changes in how efficiently oxygen is being carried to the extremities furthest from the heart, including the legs and the arms. It is used to check how well your heart is pumping oxygen through your body. It is used to monitor the health of individuals with any type of condition that can affect blood oxygen levels such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart failure, asthma, pneumonia, the new viral infection coronavirus disease (COVID 19) among others.

Usage

It is placed on a finger, and small beams of light pass through the finger measuring the concentration of oxygen. It checks both oxygen concentration and heart rate.
