Lyclear Permethrin lotion is commonly used to treat scabies and lice infestations. It works by disrupting the nervous system of parasites, causing paralysis and death. When applied to the skin, permethrin targets the nerve receptors of the insects, preventing the normal flow of  ions, which impairs their ability to function and eventually kills them. For scabies, the lotion is applied to the entire body, typically overnight, and then washed off. For lice, it’s applied to the scalp and hair, left for a specific time, and then rinsed. It’s generally safe, but can cause mild irritation in some individuals.
