Description
INDICATION AND DOSAGE
Aspirin is known as an acetylsalicylic acid. It also belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is indicated:
To relieve pain, fever, and inflammation associated with many conditions, including the flu, the common cold, neck and back pain, dysmenorrhea, headache, tooth pain, sprains, fractures, myositis, neuralgia, synovitis, arthritis, bursitis, burns, and various injuries. It is also used for symptomatic pain relief after surgical and dental procedures.
It is also used to help prevent heart attacks and strokes in people who have previously suffered these conditions or who have under gone by-pass surgery. (under a doctor’s guidance)
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE
Adults, elderly and children over the age of 16years:
The usual dosage is 1 to 2 tablets dissolved in water, once a day. In some people a higher dose of up to 4 tablets a day may be prescribed.
Do not take this many tablets unless told to by your doctor.
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
A physician consultation is highly recommended in such cases.
Aspirin should not be taken in the last three months of pregnancy.
Do not take this medicine if you are breastfeeding.
SIDE EFFECTS
stomach pain, indigestion or heartburn, skin rash, swelling of the face, neck or throat, increased bleeding/blood thinning (if you cut or injure yourself).
