RHINATHIOL ADULT SYRUP is a mucolytic drug containing carbocisteine that alleviates respiratory symptoms and infections by reducing the viscosity of mucus, allowing it to be expelled. The hypersecretion of mucus characterizes serious respiratory conditions including asthma, cystic fibrosis (CF), and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Due to the medication’s mucolytic effects, carbocisteine significantly reduces sputum viscosity, cough, dyspnea and fatigue. Additionally, it prevents pulmonary infections by decreasing accumulated mucus in the respiratory tract; this is especially beneficial in preventing exacerbations of COPD caused by bacteria and viruses.

INDICATION AND DOSAGE

RHINATHIOL ADULT SYRUP is a type of medicine called an expectorant mucolytic agent.A expectorant mucolytic agent helps an individual cough up phlegm (also called mucus or sputum). It works by making phlegm less thick and sticky(reducing the viscosity) thus allowing to be expelled.

This can help in conditions that affects your lungs, including:

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)

Cystic fibrosis

RECOMMENDED DOSAGE

15ml of syrup or liquid from a bottle, given 3 times a day. When the symptoms improve, your doctor may recommend 10ml, taken 3 times a day.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

A doctor’s consultation is highly recommended.

Do not take it if you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant without consulting your doctor. Do not take it if you are breastfeeding or intend to breastfeed without consulting your doctor.
